October 2012New: images of invitations (weddings, Bnai Mitzva), videos clipsIn August 1996, Jerry and Madeleine Isenberg, travelled from California, USA, to Vienna and met with Miriam and Alan Hercberg, who travelled from Israel.  Together they drove across Slovakia to visit the cemetery in Kezmarok, where Miriam's and Madeleine's ancestors once lived.  From that moment, Madeleine began to be concerned about creating a family tree to memorialize the family's Holocaust martyrs and discover other family roots.  Madeleine and Jerry started the English-language, Shlomo Steiner Family website (http://steiner-goldman.com/index.html) and Hagit Tsafriri later translated and hosted a Hebrew-language version, http://tsafririh.wix.com/steiner-goldman.  We also started with a stand-alone software program to collect information and painfully share it periodically with other English-speaking internet-connected family members.By 2009, we discovered we had more information about the GOLDMAN side of the family, so the family tree was re-named, STEINER-GOLDMAN-2009. With the appearance of MyHeritage, cousin Hagit Tsafriri was instrumental in converting the family tree to an on-line, up-to-date bilingual (Hebrew and English) family tree.  It continues to grow with the contributions of photographs, documents, and financial support from other family members.   Annual subscriptions to MyHeritage have been provided by:·         Hagit Tsafriri, 2009, dedicated to the memory of the TANDLICH family,·         Miriam and Alan Hercberg, 2010, dedicated to the memory of GOLDSTEIN and GOLDMAN ancestors.·         Lea and Shlomo Eckstein and Mina and Yitzchak Zollman, 2011-2016, in memory of their parents Vica (nee GOLDMAN) and Lajos ZOLLMAN, and the ZOLLMAN and GOLDMAN families.We hope you will find this tree informative and that you will also contribute photos, documents, and stories that we can all learn from.  We'll tell you how to do that.  Please also provide corrections to any errors we have made and updates to your branches.  We also look forward to finding more world-wide connections, and with your help, this may happen.With our great love to members of the family we know -- and those we hope to meet -- we look forward to hearing from you.
